The leader of Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham ,the Sunni insurgent group that has taken control of parts of Iraq and Syria has urged Muslims around the world to fight to avenge wrongs committed against their religion.
In a recording posted online Tuesday, The leader of (ISIS) Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared he wants to turn the enclave his fighters have carved out in the heart of the Middle East into a magnet for militants.
“Those who can immigrate to the Islamic State should immigrate, as immigration to the house of Islam is a duty,” said al-Baghdadi.
The newly named “caliph” said the appeal especially applied to “judges and those who have military and managerial and service skills, and doctors and engineers in all fields.”
The audio message came two days after ISIS jihadists declared the captured territories from Iraq's Diyala province to Syria's Aleppo a new Islamic State, or “caliphate,”
The declaration of the caliphate followed a three-week since they started their fast-moving offensive across Iraq.
The group removed “Iraq and the Levant” from their name and urged other radical Sunni groups to pledge their allegiance.
Starting early June, ISIS seized major areas of western and northern Iraq, committing mass killings of opposing Shiite Muslims in the region.
ISIL posted several photos online in mid-June posted on the group’s website show rows of men lying face down in trenches while their executioners blast away.
“The photos and satellite images from Tikrit provide strong evidence of a horrible war crime that needs further investigation," Human Rights Watch Emergency Director Peter Bouckaert said in a statement.
The Obama administration has proposed Congress on Thursday to authorize $500 million in direct U.S. military training and equipment for Syrian opposition fighters.
National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden announced on Thursday that the administration would seek the money that she said would build on "longstanding efforts" by the United States "to empower the moderate Syrian opposition."
Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz ordered on Thursday “all steps” be taken to safeguard kingdom from jihadists battling the government in neighbouring Iraq.
Saudi Arabia shares long desert borders with both Iraq and Jordan. Militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant last week captured and temporarily held an Iraqi post on the Jordan border, a crossing that is roughly 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Saudi territory.
Who is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ?
Abu Bakr al Baghdadi , is a successor organisation after Abu Omar al Baghdadi was killed in a joint U.S.-Iraqi operation.
Al Baghdadi was born to a religious family in Samarra in 1971. He studied Islamic history as a student and, according to sympathetic websites, gained a doctorate from Baghdad university in the late 1990s.
It is likely Baghdadi held a religious position in the Sunni community when the US invaded Iraq in 2003.
He formed his own militant group in the Samarra and Diyala areas, where his family was from, before joining al Qaeda in Iraq.
On 2 December 2012, Iraqi officials claimed that they had captured al-Baghdadi in Baghdad following a two-month tracking operation. Officials claimed that they had also seized a list containing the names and locations of other al-Qaeda operatives However, this claim was rejected by the Islamic State of Iraq
